Commonly referred to as the dean of Crisfield carvers, Lawson was the focus of a recent exhibit at the Ward Museum titled "Oliver 'Tuts' Lawson: A Retrospective." In a "Decoy Magazine" article on the exhibit, the Ward brothers' prot?g? recalls, "I used to watch, ask questions and learn."

This raised-wing carving bears the maker's signature and date on the bottom.
