A George III chinoiserie lacquered tall case clock
19th century
Marked to the face: Rich Fifield / Martyr Worthy / Strike Silent
The steel dial with black Roman numeral hour markers, black Arabic minute markers, and a sub seconds and calendar dial, with two-train movement, housed in a glozed bonnet over a lacquered wood case, all gilt with chinoiserie figures

Condition

Overall good condition with scattered scuffs, scratches, nicks, shrinkage cracks, indentations, and separation at joints commensurate with age. Working condition unknown. Appears to be lacking weights on the interior. As well, the minute hand is loose and dangling, and it may not operate as intended. Lastly, the front panel glazing is later added plexiglass.
