Description

Rare and unusual vintage 1950s hand painted/ custom made blue and white satin mermaid gown. Wonderful silhouette that emphasizes the curves of the wearer. Decorated with chiffon ruffled straps/ bust, and hand sewn sequins throughout. Bottom hem flares out with layers of tulle underneath. White rayon blend interior with metal zip down the back. Probably a stage piece of sorts or showgirl ensemble. 25” waist x 34” bust x 38” hips x 45” total length. Provenance: David Moses, NJ. Antiques collector/ dealer: Winning & Losing.

Condition

Very good- excellent. Various faint staining/ small imperfections.
