A fine Impressionist painting created in fused glass enamel on copper plate by Charles Parthesius, American, 1921 to 1997. The painting depicts a sunny and pleasant day in a park, where people dressed in 19th century fashion are walking among the trees. Ladies in long light dresses, men in dark suits. In the center of the composition is a carriage drawn by horses with a rider in red. Charles Edward Parthesius was born on April 25, 1921, in Maspeth, Queens, New York City. During his lifetime his enamels became very popular and the artists works were known to have been owned by such notable celebrities as Sammy Davis, Jr., Barbara Eden, Dean Martin, Paul Mellon, Ethel Merman, Liza Minelli, Princess Jacqueline Oblinsky, Prince Philip of England, Merriweather Post, Vincent Price, Mario Puzzo, Ronald Reagan, Frank Sinatra, Sr., Red Skelton, and John Wayne.
