Description
The vivid blue faience of this shabti suggests its origin in the Late Period of ancient Egypt, where such figures were placed in tombs to serve the deceased in the afterlife. The craftsmanship reveals a high level of artistry, with detailed modeling of features and an intense turquoise glaze that has maintained its luster over millennia.
