3 Chinese Minority Skirts, 19th-20th C. 1) Ha Li Woman's Skirt Textile, 20th Century. A short style skirt with rare design. Cotton, silk; embroidery. Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection. Size: 21'' x 19'', (53 x 48 cm). 2) Jingpo Skirt Cloth Textile, China, Mid 19th C. Indigo cotton with woven rust, beige, yellow and green end panels. Wool and cotton. Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection. Size: 2'9'' x 4'11'' (84 x 150 cm); 3) Ha Li Woman's Festival Tube Skirt, Early-Mid 20th C. Cotton; supplementary weft inlay, supplementary warp inlay, ikat, embroidery. Skirt constructed of three strips of warp faced cloth with a variety of weft and warp inlay techniques, and one narrow strip of solid embroidery. Some other embroidered elements in silk thread. Southern Hainan Island, Ledong Autonomous County, China. Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection. Size: 2'10.5'' x 2'3'' (88 x 69 cm).
