Majolica 1876 Memorial Vase c.1875, 10", retailed by J.M. Shaw &Co, New York, the vase modeled as three back to back grey eagles guarding the American Flag with spears and 3 cobalt blue Memorial Vase. Produced as a souvenir for the 1876 Centennial Exhibition, Philadelphia, the vase modeled as three back to back grey eagles guarding the American Flag with spears and 3 cobalt blue shields. Written on two of the shields 1876 Centennial Memorial, and Washington the Father of Our Country to the third. All is supported on a mottled green and brown circular pedestal base. The Copeland 1876 Memorial Vase is the most coveted example of Copeland's Majolica production.
