Circa 1920s. Made by Reverend Ben Davis of North Carolina. This piece was purchased by Ralph Kylloe over 30 years ago and has been kept in his personal collection. Oak covered with chip-carved Mountain Laurel or Rhododendron branches. Single glass door over one drawer. 40" wide x 62" tall x 17" deep. In 2012, Ralph Kylloe wrote the book "The Rustic Furniture of Reverend Benjamin Davis" and this piece is photographed in that book on page 15 and 32. This lot also comes with a copy of the book and signed by the author. It also can be seen in his book "Rustic Living" on page 358 and 359 as well as on the cover of "Rustic Traditions".
