Set of 5 English Etchings (4)Turner & (1) Brierly. J.M.W. Turner (1775-1851) was a British painter known for his system of landscape painting. He co-founded the Royal Academy of Arts in London and made significant contributions to the art world through his unique approach to painting landscapes. Turner's style was characterized by his bold use of color and the desire to convey a sense of movement and spontaneity in his works. Some of his most famous paintings include "The Slave Ship (Slavers Throwing Overboard the Dead and Dying?Typhoon Coming On)" and "The Fighting Temeraire." O.W. Brierly, whose full name was Dr. Owen Michael Brierly, was a poet, teacher, and anthropologist. He was born in 1913 in Tipton, England, and died in 2005. Brierly is best known for his work on African literature and for his translations of African poems and prose. He also wrote a number of collections of his own poetry.
