By artist, "My work is clean, crisp, colorful and happy. The style is a blend of American primitive simplicity, meticulous rendering and in the case of my paintings, an unmistakable, tight, finish.I started exhibiting my work in 1973 and The New Yorker Magazine began buying my drawings in 1975. Thanks Mom for pushing me to send a portfolio to them! My paintings have had a darn good time ? shown nationally in galleries, juried shows, competitions and solo exhibits. My illustrations went beyond publication in The New Yorker to appear on magazine covers, in articles, books, more magazines, calendars, pamphlets, and in advertisements for major periodicals and publishers.A true milestone in my career came early on. At 24, I received the unexpected invitation for membership in the oldest continuously exhibiting professional women?s art organization in the United States, the Petticoat Painters. I exhibited for years with these amazing, established painters."#5586
