Description
"Tom Sayers' Battles in the Ring", c. 1883. Supplement for "Patrons of the Police Gazette of New York". Large hand-colored engraving featuring the English bare-knuckle fighter Tom Sayers, illustrating his victories over various opponents in the prizefighting ring, approximately a decade before the advent of professional boxing. Dimensions: (Frame) H 32" x W 38.5" Condition: Not examined out of frame. Creases appear to be original. Soiling, age toning and a few tears to paper. Nicks and rubs to frame. R18
