Description
An authentic 55 lb. copper ingot slab from the wreck of the Atocha circa 1622. It is stamped A86025 on one side, 15 x 9 inches. NOTE: A large cargo of 30,000 lbs. of crude copper ingots was placed onboard the Atocha in 1622 for the return voyage to Spain. 582 copper ingots were loaded onboard the Atocha at Havana, Cuba, the Atocha?s final stop before sailing to Spain, weighing an average of 54.2 lbs. The copper originated from the Cuban mine at Caridad del Cobre, owned by the Spanish crown.
