Featured in this lot is this historic 48 star U.S. flag with cotton bunting circa 1912-1959. The 48 star US Flag was the longest US flag in use, 47 years, at that time in the history of the country from 1912 - 1959. The current 50 star flag has flown since 1960, 62 years. The flag of the United States is the nation's most widely recognized symbol. The tag and company this flag comes from reads as follows: The Name Annin Gaurrentee Quality - DefianceReg. US PAT. OFF. - Cotton Bunting - Two Ply-Moth Proof. The condition of this flag shows a preserved condition that shows some serious wear to the stars and to the edges and seams of the flag. The measurements of this flag is 36" x 60".
