Description
Featured in this lot is this Cherokee shaman beaded dancing figure circa 160's. The figure features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wood, Indian tanned hide and beaded construction that shows a Cherokee shaman in traditional ceremonial garments that include loin cloth and V-shaped tunic that is beaded with sky blue, medium blue, and chalk white trade seed beads. The shaman is holding a dancing wand and shows a envelope in the other hand with a feathered headdress and back adorning a ceremonial garment. The back of the base was previously marked with the title but has since been worn off. The condition of this dancing figure is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this dancing figure is 11 1/4" x 8" x 5 7/8". The collective weight of this figure is 2lb 6oz.
