A vintage black and white photograph by American photographer and sports photojournalist Barney Stein (1909-1993). Titled, "Grace Kelly and the Press." Photographed 1956 for the New York Post, the work depicts the American actress, Grace Kelly (1929-1982), surrounded by a profusion of reporters and other figures. Kelly, an iconic film star of the Golden Age of Hollywood, became princess of Monaco through her marriage on April 18, 1956 to Prince Rainier III of Monaco. Hand written title to lower center, with artist signature in silver Sharpie to lower right BARNEY STEIN. Hand written note with information about the work and artist signature affixed to verso. The artist worked for The New York Post from 1939 until his retirement in 1970. He was the official team photographer for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1937 until the team relocated to Los Angeles in 1957; he is best remembered for his 1951 photograph of Dodgers pitcher Ralph Branca sobbing after giving up the winning home run in the 1951 National League tie-breaker series to New York Giants batter Bobby Thomson, a play popularly known as the "Shot Heard 'Round the World." Presented under glass with a white mat border in a black frame. Sight size measures approximately 15.75" x 19.75".
