Description
Josef Hartwig (German, 1880-1956). A vintage German wood chess set, circa 1920s. Titled, "Bauhaus Schachspiel" ("Bauhaus Chess"). A rectangular wood base with lacquered finish accompanied with 32 detailed wood chess pieces in abstract geometric shapes. No apparent maker marks. Board measures approximately .25" x 20" x 20". Largest pieces measure approximately 2.25" x 1.35" x 1.35", Pawns measure approximately .65" x .65" x .65".
Dimensions: .25 X 20 X 20 in.
Condition: Good overall condition having mild surface wear to edges and corners of chess pieces. Estate fresh to the market.
