Item Details

Description

This is a pair of switchmans lanterns. The first is a Dietz Vesta from the Cleveland Cincinnati Chicago and St Louis Railroad, and is cast with C.C.C. & ST. L. on the rim. Patent dates from 1907 to 1925. Has a clear cast Corning CNX globe that is cast with N.Y.C. LINES on the front, which is appropriate, as this railroad would become part of the NYC. Has correct burner and twist off fount. The second lantern is a New York Central Railroad Adlake Kero, with a manufacturers date of 4/1953 on the bottom. Cast with NYCS on the rim. Has a plain clear globe, along with the correct burner and fount.
