EDWARD VIII (1894-1972) King of England whose abdication of the throne in order to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson rocked Great Britain and led to his spending the balance of his life in self-imposed exile. An original copy of the Dec. 11, 1936 British newspaper 'The Daily Mirror', with the headline 'King Edward Will Broad-Cast To-Night', and containing news about his signing an instrument of abdication. Very good. Together with a partial copy of the Dec. 11, 1936 newspaper 'The Daily Telegraph', with similar content and badly worn. Two pieces.
