Native American / First Nations, Northwest Coast United States, Alaska & Canada, Inupiaq/Inuit people, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A pair of hand-carved stone creatures - a standing anthropomorphic serpentine rabbit and a soapstone otter / beaver / abstract sea mammal. The rabbit has faint Inuktitut initials and perhaps the numbers "88" for the year, the other carving is probably a few decades older and has disc numbers and Inuktitut syllabic script. Size of otter: 11.25" L x 4.5" W x 2.5" H (28.6 cm x 11.4 cm x 6.4 cm)

Loss to front flipper on otter as shown and clear Inuktitut script on base. Losses and chips to base and surface chips and abrasions, with natural stone striations, base is faintly signed with Inuktitut and numbers.
