Description
'Gooseberries (Currants).' Oil on canvas. Signed and dated 1900. 12 x 16"; 14 1/2 x 18 1/2" (framed). Provenance: Gertrude Grace Sill (1920 - 2020) American art historian, curator, professor and author of "John Haberle Master of Illusion" among other art historical publications. The notes of Gertrude Grace Sill identify this work as part of the Fall River, MA School. Robert Spear Dunning (1825 - 1905) founded the Fall River Drawing School. This painting by D.L. Walker appears to be strongly influenced by Dunning.
