Antique 1800s Percussion Rifle. This antique Rifle is from the Civil War period, 1855-1875. It features First Nation/American Indian Motifs in silver-toned and brass fixtures. The barrel has hand carved into its side, JCUT. What appears to be a maker's mark (Illegible/worn) is on top of the barrel. The rifle has a rare Indian Head Patchbox. The rifle has several silver-toned inlays plus an intricate brass decoration under the cheekpiece. The rifle is curry maple and is a full-stock rifle. The gun was purchased in Virginia and was said to have come from the Blacksburg area. In good condition.?It measures 54?x 2 x 4 inches.
