China. The rectangular banner embroidered in green, red, black, and cream to depict Chairman Mao and a supporter holding a red book in his raised left hand. The lower section with Chinese characters: 'Chairman Mao inspects the army of Cultural Revolution, August 1967.'
Condition: Good condition with little wear, loose threads, soiling, and creasing.
Provenance: British private collection.
