Description
Two (2) Southwest Native American pottery jars including: one (1) Zia Pueblo low bowl having a white slip interior with red polychrome bird decoration and monochrome red polychrome paint to outer bowl, incised signature reading R.M. SALAS for Zia Pueblo artist potter Rita (Salas) Shije Kayeiti (b. circa 1867 to 1875-1956). Salas sold her work at R. M. Camp Company, 1922, and the Julius Gans Store, Santa Fe, 1921. 1 1/2" H x 8 1/2" Dia. Second item - one (1) Acoma or Santa Domingo pottery jar with red and black geometric polychrome decoration. 7 1/2" H x 8" dia. Both items Late 19th/Early 20th century.

PROVENANCE: Collection of John H. and Carol R. Evans, Farragut, Tennessee.
Condition
1st item: Overall good condition with scattered wear and losses to paint decoration, very slight fleabites to rim. 2nd Item: Scattered use wear and losses to paint decoration, some staining, old repair to one side of body.
