Description
Monumental Japanese scroll painting, watercolor on laid paper, 54 feet 9 inches in length, depicting a parade or processional -possibly a Daimyo Procession to Edo- with hundreds of figures: warriors, kite flyers, children, animals, court officials, and other subjects, along with Imperial palanquin / carriages. The scroll consists of multiple 39" x 12" sections of paper, with a 12" gilt paper section at the outermost end and calligraphy signature at the innermost end. Approximately 657 inches wide x 12 inches high. Late 19th or early 20th century.

Condition
Overall good condition with light toning, scattered foxing and creasing. Colors remain bright. Some wear to damask and gilt end section.
