Description
DESCRIPTION: Three Sumida porcelain lanterns - two square, one round and tripod - each featuring applied figures: each square lantern has a boy carrying a pipe or burled rod; round lantern has two women, each carrying an object in her left hand. Each piece is pierced on body and lid to allow light, and each piece bears a glazed "Ban-ni" signature on verso in kanji.
CIRCA: Late 19th to early 20th Century
ORIGIN: Japan
DIMENSIONS: Square - H: 4" W: 3.5" L: 3.25"
Round - H: 4.25" W: 3.75"
CONDITION: Chip on ear and right hand of one square piece figure, on ear of other square piece's figure
