Erte or Romain de Tirtoff, Russian, French, 1892 to 1990, limited edition silk scarf, Letter L from the Alphabet series depicting a lady with a deep waist length neckline, with a cheetah in a collar with precious stones. Erte was inspired by Marchesa Luisa Casati, an Italian socialite. Signed lower right. Framed. Romain de Tirtoff was a Russian and French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erte, from the French pronunciation of his initials. He was a 20th century genius artist, graphic artist, illustrator, set designer, fashion designer, sculptor of the Art deco era, Russian origin, who worked in Paris and Hollywood.
