This three volume work with 114 hand-colored lithographs is Edward Thomas Booth's Rough notes on the birds observed during twenty-five years' shooting and collecting in the British Islands. The work was published in London by R. H. Porter between 1881 and 1887. It also features 2 colored maps.

The illustrations were drawn by Edward Neale after original specimens collected by Booth. Booth was a wealther birder and sportsman, and stuffed his specimens to mount in their natural environs in glass cases. Booth's specimens are now housed in the Brighton Museum.

The work is in good to excellent condition overall. There is some discoloration to the paper's edge. There is some scuffing and general wear to book jackets.
