Description
HERMES PARIS silk “Tsubas” scarf. This scarf features various Japanese detailing surrounding the central Tsuba and accenting the corner Tsubas. A Tsuba serves as the protective guard or handguard on a Japanese sword, designed to prevent the hand from slipping onto the blade. It's often adorned with intricate carvings or decorative inlays. Tsubas are primarily crafted from a variety of metals, although leather is occasionally used as well. All those variations and detailing can be found in the design of this scarf, in chartreuse colors on a zhite background framed by an eggplant border. Drawn by Christiane Vauzelles, first edition in 1971, re-issued in 1991. The scarf measures approx. 34" x 35” Sewn in tag not present. Rare color variation.
