Circa 1889/1890 - Richard Riemerschmid Walnt Music Room Chair - Designed by Richard Riemerschmid, manufactured by Vereinigle Werkstatten Kunst und Handwerk Munich / J Mayer & Co, a Munich Piano Mfg Co, commissioned them to provide a music room "in plain but modern shape" for the Dresden and Paris International Exhibitions of 1889 and 1890 - The leather seat was replaced in 1948 (Tag on the bottom of seat) with a needlework upholstery that was provided to them. / Measures: 30.75"H x 19"W x 22.5"D / Provenance: Acquired from direct descendants of Herbert Hoover, reportedly from the estate of Herbert Hoover / Condition: Needlepoint seat edge pulled loose from tacks
