Two finely rendered oval shaped miniature portrait paintings on porcelain in brass frames. The first, larger portrait is situated in a standing desk frame measuring 5" in height and 3 3/8" at its widest (art not inspected out of frame). The second, smaller of the two is in a hanging frame. It is dated 1770 in pencil on the underside of the piece (this date must therefore apply to the first as well given the same subject is pictured). "MR 15" is stamped on the bottom as well. The art measures approximately 3 1/4" in height and 2 3/4" at its widest, the frame 4 3/8" in height and 3" at its widest. Both artworks are in remarkable shape.
