INUIT AND NATIVE AMERICAN ARTS
Native American and Native American inspired, early 20th century, miscellaneous material. Twenty-two (22) articles: an octagonal painted hide drum; a Skookum papoose; a beadwork hide doll; a a Skookum-style wooden and hide-outfitted doll; two woven baskets, a Zuni-style bird fetish necklace, a strand of glass beads and one of clay, a horn with rawhide string; and a hide tobacco pouch. Natural materials including a piece of petrified wood, scrimshaw antler segment, signed, three elk teeth, two arrowheads (one noted East Texas), and a buckeye. Also included are a Nuvuk, Canada soapstone figure of a seal hunter, signed, and a handmade fur-wrapped doll with baby in her parka.
