Four New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Dining Car Items - Merchants Plates, Indian Tree Platter, and Menu A small group of dining car items for the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad including two 8 1/2" plates in the Merchants pattern, both bottom stamped Buffalo China Made Expressly for N-Y-N-H&H-R-R. One plate shows moderate utensil scratches, leftover adhesive marks, a glaze imperfection at the top left edge of the rim, discoloration along the edge, and stacking wear. The other plate shows mild utensil scratches, light discoloration along the edge, and stacking wear. An 8 3/8" x 5 7/8" oval platter in the Indian Tree pattern bottom stamped Scammell's Trenton China Made For N.Y.-N.H.&H.R.R.Co., showing moderate signs of use with heavy utensil scratches, leftover adhesive marks, discoloration along the edge, and stacking wear. The bottom foot has a minor 1/8" chip. No other notable cracks or breaks in the group. An eight page Merchants Limited Menu dated August 1967 and measuring 8" x 10 3/4" is also included. The menu shows light discoloration and staining on the cover along the top and right edge. The bottom right corner has a crease from folding that extends through the entire menu. The back cover is torn along the lower left edge and a crease extends to the interior pages. See photos for best description.
