[FILM POSTER]

REVENGE OF THE JEDI. Twentieth-Century Fox: 1983. Poster, color-printed on glossy paper. The full sheet measures 40 3/4 x 26 3/4 inches (103.5 x 68 cm). One vertical and three horizontal fold marks (as is typical with other posters), wear to creases, very light creasing overall only visible in raking light. Bright colors overall, presents well.

An advance poster, from an edition of 6,800. The film was initially announced as Return of the Jedi in 1980. Amidst claims from Lucasfilm executives that "Return of the Jedi" made for a weak title (while "Revenge of the Jedi" was catchier) the film's name was changed to "Revenge of the Jedi". After this run of posters was printed, the title reverted to "Return of the Jedi" and was released as such, per George Lucas' insistence that Jedi don’t seek revenge.
