A pair of miniature 19th century oval shaped hand painted noble portraits. The portraits depict Shah Jahan, the fifth Mughal Emperor, and his wife, Empress Mumtaz Mahal, the woman for whom the Taj Mahal was constructed as a tomb. They are depicted in finery and an elaborated headdress, holding a hand fan. Presented in an oval frame with a fitting ring, on the top.
