The Christmas dinner menu from 1918 identifies Clements as serving there as a private, and describes the Remount Depot's growth during WWI: "From a small Post with a half-dozen permanent buildings, a command of 130 men, including one service school, corrals containing 600 animals, to a post containing a score of substantially constructed buildings, a command of 600 men, including four service schools and corrals containing 7000 animals...." Edgar Clements's son, Kenneth Boyd Clements served during WWII in Co. K, 123rd Infantry, and was also a Korean War veteran.
