Description
This display case holds over 50 pieces of points, knives and tools unlabeled from the Bracken collection. Several are of chalcedony which takes on a waxy appearance and is found in one mountain range between Oklahoma and Arkansas. This stone was occasionally heated to enhance the shiny appearance. A spectacular find is the corner tang knife, (right of center), at just over 3 in. in length found from Texas to Tennessee. An early and rare find are the E-notch points from the Archaic Period found in Tennessee (center). There is a Gary point (in the upper left corner) from Arkansas. A great collection from the southeast area all range from 1 in. to 4 in in length. The walnut display case measures 25 in. X 9 in. X 2 in. Please see photos for details. (ref.
