A MID-20TH CENTURY PERSIAN (IRANIAN) SILVER TRAY
mark of Rasool Parvaresh, Isfahan, c.1960, of rectangular form with rounded corners, with a ovolo edge and moulded rim, the field with engraved ghalam zani decoration of a vertically symmetrical composition of a mythical beast attacking a goat with a cockerel above and a demon mask below, otherwise with foliate scrolls and peonies infilled with cockerels and beast masks, edged with arabesque cartouches, as well as a rosette border, the ovolo edge with a chased monabbat-kari decoration of trailing peonies, workshop mark on the underside and with a standard mark. 30.4cm by 42.8cm, 48 troy ounces
