painted by Franz Schier after the painting by Peter Paul Rubens, depicting seven putti carrying a large garland of fruit in a mountainous landscape, impressed number verso, indistinctly inscribed lower right, framed. Visible plaque 17cm by 24.5cm
The Munich-based artist Franz Schier (1852-1922) painted in various media, including on porcelain. The Garland of Fruit (painted by Rubens between 1615-17) hangs in his city's Alte Pinakothek.
