Description
Ca. 2nd millennium BC.A pottery vessel of a bulbous body, rounded, but stable base, broad shoulder, short tubular neck and a thick rim. The upper register is painted with a decorative band of triangles serving as a baseline for the parade of stylised animals, separated by small trees with diagonally placed branches. Above, runs a band of cross-hatched pattern with dots and a wave band with droplets to the bottom edge. Size: 190mm x 170mm; Weight: 400g Provenance: Property of a North London gentleman; formerly in a European Collection, France, bought in Paris in the 1990s.
