Five Tibetan Buddhist miniature icons known as tsakli, are used in initiation ceremonies and for various devotional purposes. Some are painted on mulberry paper while others are on canvas. 19th and early 20th century.the big one H 20.3 cm(8in.) x W 17 cm( 6.6 in.), Provenance: Property of Bruce Elliot Tapper Ph.D., a social anthropologist, journalist, writer, and editor. He was an editor at the Smithsonian Associates Program in the early 1980s and then had a career as an editor at the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art, the American Occupational Therapy Association, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
