Description
Pre-Columbian, North Coast of Peru, Moche, ca. 450 to 700 CE. A mold-formed pottery stirrup vessel depicting a figure holding a strand of ovoid objects - perhaps beads or fruit. The tunic worn atop the upper body is decorated with a split red and yellow-white pattern while a pair of discoid ear spools are adorned with bullseye patterns. A sturdy handle and cylindrical spout emanate from the verso. Size: 6.7" L x 5.25" W x 8.5" H (17 cm x 13.3 cm x 21.6 cm)
