Lighting implements and tools, twenty pieces, and book on early lighting, including: sandwich flint glass whale oil lamp, 10 1/2" h.; small oil lamp, with detachable glass well, brass wick stem; small hanging lantern, four glass panels; 19th C. French oil Betty lamp, decorated with a rooster at the center, arched handle with metal joints and hook for hanging, handcrafted, has sustained rusting in several spots, 8 1/4" h. x 5" d.; hanging Betty lamp with cap to left, minor denting; Betty whale oil lamp with articulated lid, mushroom shaped well, and spout; two 19th C. cruise lamps, sets consisting of two small iron bowls with spouts kept together by string, as well as a decorative small fire poker, considerable oxidation, especially on the lower portions, 7" h. x 2" w. x 4 1/2" l.; three candle stick holders of varying heights, all three have wax stains and rusting, 6" h., 7" h., 7 1/2" h., two cast iron scissor form snuffers, one has three legs on its base, minor blemishes to metal and wax residue, 6 1/2" l., the other is flat based, and has rusting on the majority of its form, 6 1/2" l., one pair of sugar-nips, piece is stuck in locked position, rust across the entirety of surface, 8 1/4" l. ;a pair of Harvin beehive candlesticks, marked "Harvin, 3010" at base, 7" h.; one Harvin candle holder, marked "Harvin, 3020" at base, 9" h.; one Newport candlestick, 6" h.; one Virginia Metalcrafters Williamsburg door knocker; one Baldwin candlestick, marked "Forged In Baldwin America" at base, 10" h.; Hayward, Arthur H. - Colonial Lighting, 1923, first edition; all pieces have wear consistent with age and use, scuff marks, scratches, etc., not guaranteed working condition, sold as-is.
