A COLLECTION OF EARLY 20TH CENTURY JAPANESE SUMIDA GAWA POTTERY. Comprising: a large mug with elephant moulded trunk handle and underglaze blue two character applied mark, 13cm high, a waisted trumpet shaped vase, a kidney shaped dish or brush washer, a cylindrical jar, a tapering oviform vase and a small shallow bowl, all moulded with figures in high relief and streaked in mottled glazes (6)
Condition
The shallow bowl is extensively damaged, cracked and repaired, the relief moulded figure on the mug with some chipping and losses, some flaking to red ground throughout, some typical surface wear.
