Provenance: Property from the Saul Brandman Foundation. Beverly Hill, California. Mug in red tone Sumida pottery fabrication, circa Meiji period. Country of origin: Japan. Thismug has a multi-color drip glaze design in ebony, brown, and green. There is an applied pottery design of a seated male scholar figure with a vase on his left. There is an applied porcelain plaque on the right side that is signed in Japanesecharacters by the artist Ishiguro Koko. This mug measures 5.25 inches tall by 5.25 inches wide by 3.75 inches deep. Provenance: Property from the Saul BrandmanFoundation.
