Hans C. Guradze, German, 1861 to 1922, an early 20th century patinated bronze figural group Lovers in a Troika depicting an amorous couple seated in a cart drawn by three horses. Raised on a rectangular naturalistic base signed C.GURADZE. Note: Hans Guradze was a German sculptor with Georgian roots born in Silesia. He was educated at the Royal Academy of Arts in Berlin and Dresden. His works were exhibited several times in the 1890s at academic exhibitions, as well as at an exhibition in Munich in 1898. He was especially attracted to the theme of depicting horses, which became the leading theme in his work. The Russian school of sculpture had a considerable influence on his art.
