Description
2 lithographs of New York City, from Valentine's Manual. After David Thomas Valentine (American, 1801-1869). Broadway, Both Sides, From Battery Place to Tin Pot Alley, (Now Exchange Alley,) in 1848, after an image from Valentine's Manual, "From the excessively rare lithographs by Jones & Newman, 1848" printed center right, 9" x 31 1/4" (with frame 12 1/2" x 34 3/4"); Wall Street, South Side, From Broadway to William Street Before the Great Fire of 1835, "painted for Valentine's Manual of Old New York, No. 4 1920", 7 3/4" x 32" (with frame 11 3/8" x 35 3/8"). Both with toning, foxing and discoloration to sheets and mats, printed copyright text to right of titles scratched and illegible on both, minor chips and losses to frames.
