ILLINOIS MADE AND RETAILED COIN SILVER TABLESPOONS AND PLACE FORK, LOT OF SEVEN, each piece having a forward-tipped fiddle handle with pointed shoulders, comprising a set of six tablespoons with an arm and hammer in shield mark for an unidentified Chicago, IL maker having engraved "E.F" initials, and a "Plain Tip" place fork by Whiting Mfg. Co. and retailed by John Conrad Woelfle of Peoria, IL (active c. 1870-c. 1912) having engraved "B.T." initials. Each with maker's mark, fork with retailer's mark. Total weight: 10.240 ozt. Second half 19th century. 7 7/8" to 8 7/8" LOA.
Condition
Most in good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, bending, one or more dents, and/or slightly worn bowl tips; one tablespoon with several dents to bowl.
