Description
FREE-BLOWN CONTINENTAL DEMIJOHN BOTTLES, LOT OF TWO, medium to dark reddish-amber glass, each of globular form with stout necks and wide mouths, having applied and patterned neck rings below the roughly sheared lip, slight kick-up bases without pontil marks. French or Swiss manufacture. Circa 1840. 14 1/2" H x 13 1/2" D small example, 16" H x 15 1/4" D larger example.

Condition
Undamaged with each having some exterior wear and heavy interior residue and dirt. Manufacturing defects including myriad bubbles, swirly glass texture, and jagged rims, smaller example having a pair of minor burst bubbles, one at shoulder and one at base, all as made.
