A Stirrup-Spout Bottle with Spondylus Shell Representation, Cupisnique, 1200-200 BCE
One half of the vessel is textured in the manner of a sacred Spondylus shell, locally called "mullu" and used as an offering to the gods.

Provenance: Jean Pierre Cottier and Fiorella Cottier-Angeli, Geneva, Switzerland. Purchased from the above by Yossef Maiman, 2008. Estate of Yossef Maiman.
Notes: Most of the items from the Cottier collection were purchased from prominent collectors such as Carlos Campilli (Miami), Sophie Pdgorska (Geneva) and Marguerite Motte (Paris).
