Description
Audrey Hepburn Personally Owned Long Sleeve Floral Gown W/Letter of Provenance - This lovely floral print gown was personally owned by Audrey Hepburn. The black gown has a red and orange multi-colored floral print, long sleeves, v-neckline, and ruffled skirt hem. The piece comes with a notarized letter of provenance from famed Hollywood hairstylist Sydney Guilaroff, who was a friend and personal hairstylist to Audrey Hepburn and did her hair for many of her films including "Breakfast at Tiffany's". The letter states in part, "Audrey gave me this 1970s long sleeve black and orange floral print gown with V neckline to add to my star worn collection around 1975. No one has worn it but Audrey." Sydney Guilaroff was a hair stylist during Hollywood's Golden Age who was the first to receive on-screen credit in films. He worked for more than forty years at the Metro Goldwyn Mayer studios on more than a thousand films, and was instrumental in crafting many of the hairstyles which became the signature looks for numerous film stars. Guilaroff was a friend, stylist, and confidante to many Golden Age stars including Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford, and Audrey Hepburn along with Marilyn Monroe, and styled Marilyn's hair for her funeral in 1962.
